And suggest signatures. It's simple, whenever you see a good signature when critiquing, just post the link in my thread. Only NEW signatures please! Generally do not post tagwalls, or LPs.

PR Weekly - 1st Edition
May 31st - June 6th

As some of you may remember, there were a series of blog posts under the name of "PR's Weekly Top Sigs" that displayed the top sigs, as picked by staff or a special guest, in a week. Well, it's back, with a few changes. Most notibly, this will now include 10 signatures weekly instead of just 5. There will still be one "weekly best" sig, however. The "Why" and "Comments/Consensus" portions of each signature have been merged into a singular "comments" section, which is used to denote a simple reason - if any, for picking the signature.

These weeks' top 10 are:

AnythingPink: Alright and we begin.. now

AnythingPink: So lets start with your name, age, and experience.

xProphet: My name is Tom. I'm 16 and I've been making tags for a few years with long breaks in between.

AnythingPink: And what was the initial factor towards wanting to get into designing?

xProphet: I visited this gaming site and requested a tag from someone. After he made the tag, I looked at it and went, "wow that's cool," so I started making tags.

AnythingPink: Heh, it seems we all started out the same way. Many designers I know also came from game related sites, myself included.

xProphet: It does seem like most people started on gaming forums

AnythingPink: Mhm. So did you think when you were first starting out you would have gotten this far? We all start out looking at our first few horrible tags and tend to have some disbelief about how far we will actually go.

xProphet: Not at all. I never expected to make anything half-decent in Photoshop so I kept it as a hobby and made a tag maybe once a week if that. The standards back then used to be so much lower though and you look at some of the "pro" tags from back then and think to yourself how that was even considered decent. tongue.gif

AnythingPink: Haha yes totally.. Actually recently I have seen a handful of old designers from like 05-06, who are just now getting back into tagging.. And of course they know nothing about the current new trends so they start with new stuff that the rest of us don't find appealing, yet as funny as it is tags like that were "pro" at some time in the past.

AnythingPink: What would you say inspires you?

xProphet: A lot of things inspire me. I normally only make a tag if I'm inspired so I never force anything out. I get inspired by a stock itself at times. Other times, movies, concepts, and other tags inspire me. The 'Most Inspiration Small...

Movies You Need to See!
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
By: Aaron!
Trailer

Jam packed full of kick-ass awesome, this movie plunges the viewer into the world of Hugh Jackman,
ehem, Wolverine. Full of crazy beards, an unhealthy amount of testosterone, and head chopping greatness.
Every person was on the edge of their seat waiting to see what was going to happen to Hugh, err, Logan.

If you're familiar with X-Men and it's story (which is necessary for any cultured person), then
you'll know that Wolverine is a toughy with a mysterious and eerie past he can't recall.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine will immerse you into the next level of Muscley Men
beating the living daylights out of each other. While it can't vouch for having completely
naked men fighting each other at the Hot Gates, it can showcase its simply beast cast.

Will.i.am (Black Eyed Peas) in a movie with Ryan Reynolds,
and that guy that was in Lord of the Rings and Lost??
Wait, you have to be joking me, there's even an asshole Asian to balance it all out?
And just see Will.i.am's gun. Holy cow. (It's even better in the movie).

Please folks, go get your dose of Hot Hugh, and cross your fingers for a legit sequel.

Artist: Raijin
Thread: http://planetrenders.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=222586
Why it was chosen: This piece shows good technical skill and appeal, it's a piece that comes from an artist
that has a variety of Digital Pieces under his belt, but this one has a certain portrait style which comes over all,
appealing.

General Consensus:
" Interesting, but maybe portrait is too boring"

Artist: xProphet ( again )
Thread: http://planetrenders.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=222535
Why it was chosen: -sigh- xProphet again, i'm afraid. He just can't stop making good tags and this is no exception, harsh
contrast, lighting and effects turn this into another outstanding piece. What is this? His third feature? Christ.

General Consensus:
" Only one word can be used to fully describe this: SICK"

Artist: DN
Thread: http://planetrenders.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=220053
Why it was chosen: This seems like an odd question to be asking about a tag like this -- can't you see yourself? The great use of colour and effects here
are really quite something. The dullness of the brown and the eccentricity of the yellow work together perfectly, creating a hot, hot, HOT tag.

General Consensus:
"The colors are nice, but can't really see the detail in the C4ds."

Artist: Fina
Thread: http://planetrenders.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=220107
Why it was chosen: This thread is a visual feast for the eyes, but this tag was personally my favourite. ( But i still reccomend you check out the thread ).
This tech-like style works really well with Fina's signature C4D style.

General Consensus:
" Love this tech style! "

Artist: Macabre
Thread: http://planetrenders.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=220688
Why it was chosen: With a fascinating use of negative space and vibrantly bright colours, this tag is a sight for sore eyes. I love the detail here
and the blackness works so well, especially at...

Seeing as we had a rather large amount of inactivity regarding thread posting in and outside of the forums, we have collectively grouped this week and last weeks tags together. If you think that this fortnightly process works better, then we shall change it. I hope you enjoy the following smile.gif

Artist: Humac
Thread: http://planetrenders.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=219973
Why it was chosen: This tag shows incredible use of lighting and colours to create an atmosphere that really works well.

General Consensus:
'its awesome! whatever it is'
'Only thing I don't like is the color choice.
But everything else is pretty cool'

Artist: DN
Thread: http://planetrenders.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=219406
Why it was chosen: This is a really interesting tag, with it's use of bold and striking shapes and it's much more subtle use of
c4ds this tag is super appealing.

General Consensus:
Rav: "your style is cool.... i luv it... first and last are my favs but they are all cool... "
Jenz: "I love the last one, the colors fx, and composition is SO SEXY11!!11ONE!"

Artist: Dinnoooo.
Thread: http://planetrenders.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=212797
Why it was chosen: Once again, this comes down as an appealing, fresh LP. The use of random shapes, a bunny rabbit (if you can't
make it out) and the harsh background works well to create a technically/visually appealing piece. The use of simple typography
draws you in and creates a really rather quite clever flow. An immense piece, fo sho.

General Consensus:
Faith Lehane: "nice and very unique/creative lp's and tags you got there "
H@nZ_IaS: "my fave the 1st and last one"

Artist: Can't you guess? WIS.
Thread: http://planetrenders.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=219420
Why it was chosen: This isn't a particulary hard question to...

AnythingPink says:
So lets start with THC.. Who exactly are you? Name? Age?

THC says:
Well my real name it Carter, I currently live in South Florida and I am 16.

AnythingPink says:
Florida huh? How are you liking it here? Are you like me who hates hurricane season and all of the miserable effects it brings?

THC says:
Everyone who lives in Florida always seems to say they don't like it. But I love living in Florida, I actually love the warm weather. And to my knowledge we haven't had a bad hurricane in a while, hopefully it stays that way.

AnythingPink says:
Alright then, well that's definitely a different statement on it. Just seems like all my friends down here, including myself can't take the weather. tongue.gif

THC says:
I freeze up even in Florida's winter, I couldn't stand living somewhere where it actually snowed. The weather is great tongue.gif

AnythingPink says:
What is one thing you can't live without? Or something you cherish dearly?

THC says:
I cannot live without my phone, even that sounds cliche. I really do feel disconnected when I don't have it. Especially recently since I've been waiting to get a new one. I hate to sound materialistic but it's true

AnythingPink says:
I'm sure we are all materialistic to some point.

THC says:
Yea, I guess I'm still in that phase lol.

AnythingPink says:
Hehe.. Now what first got you involved in designing? And how long have you been doing it for?

THC says:
Well I first got involved in designing when I was on a small forum, some of the people I knew there had these 'cool things' in their sig space. I found out what they were and was soon able to obtain Photoshop to create my own. I started off as horrible as most.

This is one of my first tags:

THC says:
With all the generic effects.

THC says:
Now...
