After changes to the site, staff retiring, inactive staff etc. we're opening the staff applications again and we're looking for quite a few positions this time

These are the open positions:

• Moderators (about 3 needed)
  
• N/SOTW Staff (probably only one needed here)
  
• LAOTF Staff (about 2 needed)
  
• LAOTF Judges (about 3 or 4 needed)
  
• Blog Contributors (no real limit here, the applications will probably stay open like before)

This is the part you definetely need to read carefully before applying:

• Moderator, N/SOTW Staff, and LAOTF Staff applications may be switched around (e.g. if you applied for mod and were chosen we may move you to N/SOTW staff or LAOTF staff if we don't have enough chosen applications for them). All of these three positions have global mod powers so you will still be able to help with general moderation with any of these positions. If you really don't want to be switched, please state this in your application!
  
• Hence, you can only apply to ONE of the following three: Moderator, N/SOTW, LAOTF Staff. HOWEVER, you can apply again as an LAOTF Judge and/or Blog Contributor. This is because we may reject your application to one of the first three but accept you as an LAOTF Judge and/or as a Blog Contributor.
  
• Other points to note: LAOTF Staff can also judge in LAOTF contest. Any of the first three positions can also contribute blog articles.

Basic requirements:

• You must be a member at PR for long enough.
  
• You must be active here. (i.e. have a post count of something like 400+)
  
• You shouldn't have any disciplinary issues (e.g. warning increases) with staff lately.

To apply, create a new topic in the 'Staff Applications' subforums. Remember you can't view your application once you post it.

Also, here are the basic stuffs you'll need to know about each Job:

Moderator:
What you will be doing will be general moderating job. That would cover: Lounge, Market Place, GFX Corner, Planet Renders Competitions and Miscellaneous forums. There's lots to watch out for, like spam and flaming. You will also need to ensure that Auction threads that are inactive are closed and also closing threads that deemed the need. You will also be dealing with Rip Cases and Complaints, and approving pending requests for Member Contest etc. Taking up this job requires a huge amount of time on PR, and maturity level in dealing with these reports and cases. But it's also a challenge for you, and a experience to exercise your judgment and your HR skills. There's too much to be said in a short introduction paragraph for this position, but basically: Maturity, Good HR skills, Commitment, and of course, Passion.




N/SOTW Staff:
Holding this position means you are in charge of one of the most important event on Planet Renders. You have to have a good level of understanding into GFX and General Art. You will need to familiarize yourself with various themes, and the current trend to decide for themes to be voted by members on a weekly basis. You are also required to have a creative mind to think of themes that are out of the box, to provide surprise and challenge to the members. You will also gain the chance to exercise your judgment on the signatures submitted, whether it's novice or not, because non-novice tags that are entered on NSOTW will be required to upgrade to SOTW. There might be protests and complaints, so your HR skills comes in. Setting up the topics and voting threads would take some of your time too, so apply if you are up to the challenge.




LAOTF Staff:
Requirements are almost similar to N/SOTW Staff. You have to have a good level of understanding into GFX and General Art. You will need to familiarize yourself with various themes too. Things at LAOTF are less hectic compared to SOTW, as it's on a fortnight basis. Voting for LAOTF works differently, you work with the LAOTF Judges, and only you and the Judges will have voting power. Stress is certain up to you guys, so if you think you are good enough, then apply.




LAOTF Judge:
Requirements is similar to LAOTF Staff. Just that you don't have Staff Powers, and doesn't have to set up the thread. What you need to do is to vote when the voting thread is up, you will have access to a section of Staff Chat, which is for LAOTF voting.




Blog Contributor:
This should be pretty easy. Good command of English, good knowledge of GFX in general, or specialization in a specific area (Tags, LP, C4D, Renders, Fractals, etc), and a little bit of humor to make your article interesting. Of course, you will need to be trendy too, because we want the most up to date information to be published, not ancient old relics.
